Are the old style metal drain pipes (home built in the 20's) connected with a bead of solder? My husband is downstairs wrenching away and I think it's going to take more than manpower to disconnect the piping. Also, the pipe was so corroded that a portion of it already snapped in half with just a bit of pressure. We are replacing with PVC of course. ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!
