Are those tub system..you know need tub and shower cover in a day worth it?

I know they are about 2-3 grand but I'm out of commisson until Jan 07 and my mother in law is gung ho about them. I meant are those re-bath or new shower cover systems where they put an arcylic cover over the tub and shower, new facuets and no grout or tile worth the 2-3 grand?
