Oil boiler (old model) has been blowing soot into the house. Noticed very thick soot buildup behind the boiler in the wall and ceiling, around the exhaust and barometric. Have since shut down the boiler, awaiting a quote. Also noticed the concrete packing sealing the exhaust to the chimney in the wall is cracked and brittle, and appears to have a draft. What are the common costs for repair, and possible causes for this.
