I asked this question over in the fish section and only got two very poor answers. Someone please help me! I've always been a rodent person (GERBILS ROCK!), but my husband and I recently purchased a home with a small 50 gallon pond out back. Here is what I have done so far: Drained and cleaned it Cleaned the filter Got the pump and filter back in working order Put gravel on the bottom, filled it back up, added algae destroyer and water conditioner Have been running the filter ever since I'd like to add 3-4 comets (the ppl who answered my question in the fish section didn't know that those are a type of goldfish--oh my!) by the end of the week. I'm going to take a sample of my water to work to test it tomorrow (I work in a pet store that does water testing for free). Am I missing anything? What else do I need to know? Pond is about 2 and a half feet deep and I live in Central PA so winters can range anywhere from teens and single digits to upper 30's. The last few winters we had stayed in the 30's, but this past winter was VERY cold for a good month or two (we're talking single digits!).
