Any ideas on the best way to tile round a bath and still be able to have access to the plumbing underneath it?

We want to have a fully tiled bath panel, and have heard that you can either buy, or make, some kind of removable access panel that you can tile over, but still take out. Any ideas on how you'd do this? We're doing the boxing in ourselves and don't want to do something stupid!
