What is your opinion of the old out houses of the past before indoor plumbing became available for everyone?

Did you have one? Did you have to dodge wasps to get in? and, finally, did it have a Sears & Robuck catalog nailed to the wall? I grew up on a 3 acre family farm. My grandmother and 2 uncles had homes on this acreage. My father built our house. We finally got indoor plumbing when I was about twelve. I'm 65 now but I remember that little outhouse like yesterday.
