I was leaning over to get something in my tub/shower and i held onto the tub spout and heard a crack!?

The tub spout is now loose and wont go flush with the wall. We tried re-caulking it but it just came off after 24 hours. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? When we pull the plug to start the shower water squirts out the sides of the tub spout. HELP! This is a 1 bed 1 bath! The copper is intact and so is the pipe.
