1999 Dodge Intrepid codes p1494 and p1684?

My check engine light has been on for a few months now (the car is running fine). I went to pepboys to get an oil change and have the codes checked. Well, they found code p1494 and told me they don't know what it is and I should take it to the Dodge dealer. I refuse to spend the money to get another diagnostic test (will cost me $300) from another place. I went online and figured out how to check the codes myself and found p1684 along with p1494. So I looked up the codes on the OBDII website and the code p1494 is "leak detection pump switch or mechanical fault." P1684 is "Battery diconnected within last 50 starts" Does anybody understand these? And if you do, what does they mean and how much will it cost (I didn't disconnect my battery, do you need to disconnect it to check the codes at the service shop)? Should I just try to clear the codes? And if the codes come back, what do I do? Thank you for your help!
