Suffolk County in New York refuses to fix a clogged drain pipe - and this drain pipe being clogged has caused a dangerous buildup of swamp land that is a breeding ground for disease carrying mosquitoes. We have been trying for 4 years to get them to fix this drain - and they refuse to do it. We are prevented from doing anything because it is wetlands. The swamp, which was previously mostly dry land, is encroaching on our house but, more importantly, is a horrific breeding ground for insects. If this standing water were our fault in Nassau County, we would be fined for promoting insect growth - but Suffolk County refuses to fix the problem.
