I watched a video on Youtube about how easy and in expensive it is to make a water heater for the chickens during cold winters. I set out to make one and had a pretty easy time doing so. I used a 40W light bulb, a galvanized extension cord, a half cinder block, a piece of ply wood, and a surge protector. My chickens can now drink nice warm water and not icycles.
