A plumber is charging me £650 pounds to fix a blocked sink. am i being scammed?

i had a party the other week, and a friend was, i must say midley sick in the sink and it became blocked, the plumber i had round is saying i need a 650 pound new part. is this possible? Is it possible that anything in the system can cost that much?
