Is there any difference betwee asian plumbing pipe size and US plumbing pipe diameter?

I want to buy some plumbing fixtures from US. I will usem in Mongolia. I am worrying can I use them in Mongolia, because we use millitere to dimenstion of anything. However, US use inch system? What should I do? If it has difference how can I find any convertor of them?
