We have a 22 year old house with the original sump pump. In the spring, the sump runs quite a bit due to the location of our house (low area) and soil type. I'm nervous that due to the age of the pump, it could suddenly break down causing our finished basement to flood. However, my husband is hesitant to replace it because of how it sits in the sump. Best to let it keep going, or get a new one?
