I signed a contract yesterday to have a plumbing company rep. some leaky pipes. I want to back out?

I found out I could have a friend do it much cheaper. I live in the State of Washington. Can I legally call the plumbing company and tell them I don't want the work done. I signed the contract yesterday and gave them 1/2 the payment....
