How do I stop my kitchen faucet from dripping?

It is a split faucet (1 handle for cold, 1 for Hot). The drip is coming from the cold side. When I put pressure upward on the handle it stops. When the pressure is realeased it starts dripping again. Does the handle come off some how to access a washer that may need replacing? Please help. Thanks
