Question for plumbers about bathroom sink drains?

New bathroom sink. New plastic drain pipe. How do you tighten the plastic nut and rubber gasket under the sink while keeping the flange inside the sink from spinning? The flange has a bead of plumbers putty underneath it. Thanks.
