How do I know if my immersion boiler is gas or electric?

I'm moving into a new place that has an immersion boiler, how can I know if it's gas or electric? The landlord isn't sure himself. There's a lead coming out from the front, if that helps. It's an old copper boiler with a green insulation around it.
