Has anyone ever come across this issue: I have a raised ranch where about 5 feet of the basement is underground on the sump side, and the ground slopes down to the other side of the house where there is a walk- & drive-out garage. There has never been a pump as far as I can tell, and in a couple of recent heavy rainfalls no water has infiltrated the basement. Can I fill in the hole where the pump goes, and what is a recommended way to do it?
