Can real estate agents be held liable for not letting the home owner be aware of a water leak?

We are in the process of selling our house and the buyer had a home inspection while we were on vacation. While we were gone, our air conditioner pan started to leak. Both the selling and buying real estate agent (Texas) was aware of it. When we came back I noticed water on the floor, but they never told me that they knew many days earlier. Shouldn't they be required to tell me? I just lucky that I discovered it before it did any damage to the sheet rock nearby. Do they have any responsibilty to report to me damage of immediate concern (water, fire, burglary etc...) Yes, we know that Real Estate agents aren't "house babysitters". However, we live in TX. A house with a non-functioning air conditioner is a big deal and will effect the price of the house. If we had known about the problem we would have had professionals come in to take care of it while we were gone. The offer came in while we were gone, the inspection was done while we were gone, and when we came back several things were screwed up that were fine before we left. If we could have, we would have had the prospective buyers wait until we returned home, but that was not an option.
