Does water heater btu rating include the efficiency of the heater? Is the the btu rating of the water heater, the actual amount of energy that is absorbed into the water or is that just the input and you have to added in the efficiency. In othr words if I wanted to heat up 100 gallons of water 10 degrees per hour. Do I need a heater that has an input of 8330 btu's or do I need to find the efficiency of the heater and add that in.
