Can I turn off well pump to fix water leak without causing problems?

I have a water leak at the pressure gauge for the pressure tank. There is no shutoff valve between that gauge and the well supply line. Will it cause a problem to shut off the well, drain the water from the line, fix the leak (hopefully), then turn the well back on?
